Dr Martens

Dr. Martens were born in the 1960’s and are well known for the bringing of punk revolution in the form of a boot. The name originated from the inventor of the signature cushioned sole, Dr. Martens, who teamed up with the well established British shoe manufactures the Griggs to create their design. Based in Northampton the Dr. Marten was soon to be the footwear choice of those who helped fire up the youth revolution in the 60’s.

This well known and well loved British shoe has stood the test of time and is known as an iconic piece in the fashion industry. With it’s air-cushioned sole, welled construction and distinctive yellow stitched label, this classic has enjoyed a major role in British youth culture. Very much still a definitive piece of footwear the Dr. Martens have proven they are unique, individual and original.

"Ever since 1 April 1960, when Dr.Martens boots first rolled off the productionline and onto the feet of postmen, policeman and everyday workers, our reputation for durability has become footwear folklore. Over 100 million pairs later, our belief in making things to last is as strong as it's ever been."
