Atalanta Weller |
Three-time winner of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN sponsorship award Atalanta Weller is leading a new wave of avant-garde footwear designers. Weller studied at Cordwainers, the leather, footwear and accessories academy at the London College of Fashion.
Atlanta Weller is know for creating show-stopping creations for London’s most forward-thinking designers, having collaborated with Gareth Pugh and Craig Lawrence among others. Not only is she a favourite of her contemporaries, she is already inspiring the next generation as a guest lecturer on the MA course at the London College of Fashion.
Weller’s designs are original and distinctive, characterised by bold geometric shapes, dramatic wedges and signature ‘wing tips’. The design aesthetic is inspired by ‘retro-futurism’, a vision of the future as imagined by generations past. Atalanta Weller shoes are fabricated in luxury materials, including Italian calf leather, wild python and even hand-painted Ostrich leg from Iceland.
Atalanta Weller shoes are sold exclusively in the most avant-garde and directional international boutiques, meaning that the designs are the perfect addition to the Hervia Bazaar retail offering.
For Autumn Winter 2011 Weller’s shoe collection is inspired by Ziggy Stardust, Louise Brooks and strong animalistic prints.
